Elisa is Deaf and was an Auslan teacher for 25 years at Southbank TAFE Qld before joining Deafblind Australia. She also spent 10 years as a DAT (Deafness Awareness Training Educator) at Queensland Police Academy under Queensland Police Services. Elisa volunteered with the Deafblind International World Conference on the Gold Coast and was a project officer with Able Australia’s Deafblind Employability project for three years. She is now a project officer on Deafblind Australia’s Seen and Heard Project and Deafblind Awareness Week celebration committee. She is also a NAATI Deaf & Deafblind interpreter.
